Penn State recognized and honored those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action during its 2024 Military Appreciation Football Game on September 21. The game was presented by Penn State World Campus.
Penn State World Campus is home to more than 3,600 military-affiliated students, including veterans, active-duty service members, spouses, and dependents.
Penn State World Campus leadership and staff members distributed Penn State–themed military challenge coins at the Military Appreciation Tailgate inside the Bryce Jordan Center. The coins' design honored and recognized prisoners of war and missing-in-action service members. The game was held one day after National POW/MIA Recognition Day, which is held annually in September.
The Nittany Lions shut out Kent State, 56-0. Penn State will further recognize and honor service members during its 13th annual Military Appreciation Week, November 11–17.
