Scenes from the Summer 2023 Penn State World Campus Celebration

The event featured two graduate speakers, one of whom was Kristen Reese. Reese earned her Master of Business Administration.

Corey Wheeler celebrated his third Penn State degree at the summer 2023 commencement ceremony. He earned a Master’s in Strategic Management and Executive Leadership.

Renee Dorer, center, graduated with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She works for a jet engine manufacturing company.

Ryan Ryu, a Master of Project Management recipient, was the other featured grad speaker. His family was there to cheer him on.

Members of the academic advising team attended the celebration to see their advisees who are graduating.

Grads marked their hometowns on a world map. This semester’s grads range in age from 18 to 81 and hail from 43 states, the District of Columbia, and 12 countries.

Karen Paulson (education teaching professor and online program coordinator) met Kristen Smock (L) and Georgina Waller (R), two Master of Education in Higher Education grads, in person at the event.

Eighteen-year-old Brayden Caraynoff-Huber is the youngest grad of the summer class of 2023. He reconnected with Julie Fitzgerald (co-curricular program coordinator) and Karen Pollack (associate vice provost for Online Education) at the celebration.

Graduates, faculty, and staff members from the Penn State School of Labor and Employment Relations gathered for their annual photo and “We Are” chant.
