Four Penn State World Campus students participated in THON™, the University’s student-run dance marathon that raises money for childhood cancer research, from February 21 to 23.
Undergraduate students Robert Billings, Christopher Donahue, and Angela Gulotta danced at THON for the first time, while graduate student Maggie Webb returned for her second year. Webb danced last year as a senior at Penn State University Park.
THON dancers spend 46 hours on their feet inside the Bryce Jordan Center, the culmination of a year-long fundraising campaign to benefit pediatric cancer patients at Penn State Health Children's Hospital in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This is the third year Penn State World Campus had students participate in the event.
Penn State World Campus Benefitting THON raised $14,631.64. Together, the Penn State community raised $17,737,040.93, topping last year's grand total by more than $780,000.
