The Master of Business Administration (MBA) available online through Penn State World Campus is designed to offer students an experience customized to fit a busy lifestyle and varied career goals while delivering a world-class education.
What you can do with an MBA
An MBA can be used for a wide range of professional paths. This is particularly true in the case of our MBA program, which allows such a high degree of individual customization.
Graduates who earn an MBA degree are qualified to fill numerous professional roles, many of which have excellent salaries and are in high demand. Some career options for those with an MBA include marketing manager, project manager, chief financial officer (CFO), financial analyst, and business operations manager.
Greater income potential
Earning an MBA degree is an investment that can pay off in a significant way. In the United States, the median annual base starting salary for new hires with an MBA was $115,000 in 2019, according to the Graduate Management Admission Council. This was more than double the average starting salary offered to new hires with a bachelor’s degree.
Why choose Penn State World Campus for your MBA
The Penn State Online MBA, offered through Penn State World Campus, is consistently ranked as one of the top programs of its kind in the country. Led by the internationally ranked Penn State Smeal College of Business, this program provides the flexibility that busy working professional adults need, while also allowing students to customize their specific focus to align with their interests and career goals.
How long it takes to complete an MBA
Our MBA can be completed in as little as two years, although there is flexibility to accommodate a student’s individual needs and circumstances.
The weekly time commitment
Our MBA courses are each three credits. We recommend students plan to devote approximately 10 hours per week to complete the work for each of these classes. Courses are asynchronous, meaning they do not need to be attended at a specific day or time each week.
MBA concentration options
Penn State World Campus gives MBA students the opportunity to select from more than 20 different concentrations, so they can tailor their educational focus in a way that best supports their intended career path. Very few programs in the United States provide online students with this level of choice. Concentration options include:
- business analytics
- corporate innovation and entrepreneurship
- cybersecurity intelligence leadership
- homeland security
- human resource management
- strategic leadership
- more than 15 other possibilities
Earn another educational credential at the same time
Many students in the Penn State Online MBA earn another educational credential simultaneously while pursuing their MBA. This additional credential could be another master’s degree or a graduate certificate. Many of the MBA program concentrations also satisfy a portion of the credit requirements for a certificate program and, in some cases, may also constitute a major portion of the curriculum for another master’s degree program.
