The graduate, Karen Dedinsky, used location data to modify and create new mapping solutions. For her final course, she created statistical models and digital maps as she sought to learn more about sharks’ locations on Cape Cod.

The institute will run in spring 2022 and is open to Penn State World Campus students majoring in labor and human relations and organizational leadership.
Daniel Selik, a student in the intercollege Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security degree program, is the recipient of the award named for distinguished Penn State alumnus Lt. Michael Murphy.
